It was October. Between the late Autumn heat of the day, and the cool evening breeze off the Bay, the Indian Summer was in full effect. It was in the middle of Oakland, on the cutest street… Tucked away behind the yellow & blush trumpet bells, with an enclosed backyard, was the *most* charming 1920s Craftsman with a secret backyard garden retreat. This bungalow had freshly refinished wooden floors, fresh paint from the baseboards to the ceilings and all around the exterior. It had original period details and space, space, & MORE SPACE! There was a finished basement! A finished garage! And my, oh my, a decadently steaming hot tub in the backyard! Every sunrise as the birds sang their chorus, the morning glories strewn across their pergola unfurled their petals in the new day’s light, the hummingbirds came to sip their nectar. …the home breathed in the change in the air, the shift of the sunlight, and the fresh new season of its life… it was ready. Ready, for its next journey.
